now

well well...

So, after a long time without writing on my blog, i will write again!

Hopefully someone will read it and post me a comment!! yeah~~

So, now, I'm again in Calgary, after going to Mexico to celebrate my birthday, i'm back.

I'm studying at UofC my degree, and it's going well, but the thing is that I'm really finding difficult to make some friends,,, it's really hard~~

I'd like to be more open, but i think i've got a little introvertide on that aspect.

So, anways, i like to write sometimes on this blog 'cause i like to express my feelings and thoughts... In response on that I'd like someones advise, maybe it would make me feel bit better... It's not that i feel bad or sad, but i do feel some depressed when i want to talk to someone but i don't have anyone who to talk to -_-;;; so it kind of sucks... It's really hard to be far from my parents. I really would like them to be here with me. to leave with them... they are the best parents ever and i really miss them. However, the good thing that i got now, is that my brother is here also in Calgary. He's also studying, though he is studying English... It's always easier to get to know your international classmates than canadian students... well, that happened to me...

Anyways.... That's Sisley's life so far... Trying to make friends -_-

Wanna be my friend??? haha,,, write me something.... haha

In Mexico

hey how's it goin'?
Maybe there's nobody from EAP creating any new post for their blog...  BUT! hopefully someone will read mine and post me something interesting on it.
Actually, i almost forgot i have a blog, not until my brother told me i hadn't posted any new post. That's why now im writing again, moreover, i want to practise
my writing english before i start at UofC. Now i'm havin' three weeks of vacation with my family in Mexico City. So, i think it should be okay if i write some Enlgish... who knows just before i go to UofC i already forgot how to write!!!! that would be awful... instead im practicing my writin'  with this blog.  kkk
I'll write some more later...

(ohh my writing is getting so boring... right?)

See you EAPP III

Although I’ve already finished my 12 blogs, I will keep writing ‘cause I like this stuff. I guess nobody else will continue writing their blogs, but if someday you are willing to type and share your life on the Internet…. I would say do it! (I’m a fan of the Internet -_-)
And finally, I want to share my opinion with you “My EAP classmates and teacher”. Even though this semester I didn’t have a big talk with anybody of you, I will miss you all at certain point in my life. It’s always kinda sad when you change your life routine and begin another. So, I wish you all good luck with anything you’re planning to do and never give up or kill yourself because you get an “F” on your writing essays -_-;;;

It’s almost gone the week and then we’ll have the famous big final exams, and then... probably we will not meet each other again……. So,,, my message is: BE HAPPY AND ENJOY LIFE!

And I’m waiting for your invitation to go to China!!!! or,,, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan, Peru, Venezuela, Ana's house(Actually, we should all go there... kiddin') … (and I think that’s it uh?) And of course you are very welcome to go to MEXICO!!! VIVA MEXICO!!!

See you guys and have fun writing the last essays one day before the due date @_@

Find yourself in the map!!!

ice-juice

Oh my gosh! I’m getting addicted to write blogs!!! I really like to type my life on the Internet! -_-. Hopefully, I will get full marks in this assignment, right Ana?
Anyway, today I dedicated myself to read as many blogs as I could, and I've also posted on some of them.

***This is how Calgary looks like with Sun!! ***

*** This is someone who thinks that Calgary is "TOO HOT IN SUMMER"***

Since I’ve read in many of your blogs that Calgary’s weather is too hot now, and that you hate it because you don’t have air conditioner at home and so on, I was perplexed and I started thinking about a good solution to help my classmates feel less hot. Then I came with a wonderful idea! I’ve decided to share with you “My dear EAPP classmates” what I do to feel less hot!!!
The following advice is especially useful for those students who cannot afford to buy a refreshing beverage such as Frappuccino (Starbucks), Ice Cappuccino (Tim Hortons) or even a single spoon of Ice Cream in the cheapest convenience store (so sad though).

***Example of someone who can afford to buy expensive cold beverages -_- ***

Since I consider myself as one more of those students who are short of money, I will tell you what to do to get some fresh cheap beverage!

I call it ICE-JUICE:
First, you need a small juice (if it’s possible get one of your favorite flavors!).
Then, you put it in the freezer… (If it’s that you have a freezer, otherwise this recipe will NOT be convenient for you)
After that, you just wait half day while your juice is getting frozen inside the freezer! (or even less time, it depends on how good quality your freezer is -_-)
Then, when you finally get your ice-juice, you will need to cut it in two parts with a knife in order to eat the frozen flavored liquid with a small spoon (*hint: it is not recommended to use chopsticks).
After you cut your juice in two parts, you are ready to eat the cool and refreshing iced beverage.

Confused????

Here are some images that ilustrates how your ice-juice should look like…

Then, you will be amazed with this revolutionary idea and even you will try to do it with other kind of food such as yogurt, chocolates, lemonades etc…

And trust me, you will feel coooool after you eat your ICE-JUICE !!!

***This is how your ICE-JUICE will look like~ Enjoy it!***

Free Breakfast Experience

I’ve been waiting for this post for more than one week, but now the time has come! I will write about my one-week experience eating Free Breakfast sponsored by The Calgary Stampede Caravan!!
First, I didn’t know that during Calgary Stampede everyone who desires to eat a typical Calgary breakfast could get it for free! After my cousin, who has been living in Calgary for more than 20 years, told me that every year during The Calgary Stampede there is a Caravan that distributes free breakfast all around Calgary. Those breakfasts are given in specific places such as famous malls or shopping centers. She advised me about it and without any doubt I decided to follow the Caravan for one week. In fact, the Caravan started from Sunday 8 to Sunday15 (today).

My adventure began on Sunday 8 when I went to the GROUND (Stampede Park). Not only I got free breakfast, but also I got free entrance into the park! Therefore, I had such a great free day over there! I’m so cheap maybe haha, but never mind, let me keep you narrating my cheap adventure, I mean my free adventure.

The following day, Monday, which had such a bad weather, I went to NORTH HILL CENTRE located just in front of the Lions Park STN. I had my second free breakfast consisted on two pancakes, a good size of hamburger beef, fresh and yellow fry eggs, butter and honey all over the pancakes, and of course orange juice and coffee (unlimited).

Next day, Tuesday, I went to MARKET MALL, it was a pretty hot day, yet everything went okay.

Next day, Wednesday, I went to DALHOUSIE SHOPPING CENTER. Over there, I had one of my favorite breakfasts since I got twice pancakes. The first one I got it before I went to Dalhousie, actually I got it at the Olympic Plaza Park, and then, I went to get my full breakfast in Dalhousie.

Then, the next day was Thursday, and I went to NORTHLAND VILLAGE MALL which is located few minutes by bus after Dalhousie Stn.

The last day (kind of sad though), it was Friday, and I went to SUNRIDGE MALL and I got my free breakfast once more. Along with that, Sunridge is pretty close to my house and I was one of the first hungry fasting people to get breakfast!

Although on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the weather was extremely hot, it wasn’t enough sweltering weather to stop me going to get my breakfast! I had already set my plans and I couldn’t back out! What’s more I had a blast getting everything for free!

All that FREE -_- breakfast adventure happened before going to school. Not to mention the fact that I also got free newspapers and a small lamp made in China haha.
I really enjoyed getting free pancakes all week, and I will do it again next year! If anybody is willing to hang out with me next year, just give me a call next year during The Stampede!

My calgarian background somehow

Who went to the Stampede Parade?! or who has gone to the Ground and eaten expensive mini-donouts and fat but delicious onion rings, or even gambling and riding games?? Well, I have and it was cool as always! Yahoo! (except for the high prices)
I really like the Stampede week! Everyone wearing cowboy clothes, hats, boots! Yeii,, I think that some part of my ethnic background has to do with cowboy people! Oh my god! I’m a very strange combination of blood then. You know? My mom is from Nicaragua, and probably if you didn’t pay attention to your Geography class in high-school, you are asking yourself, “What a hell is Nicaragua?! Well, Nicaragua is small country located in Central America just between Honduras and Costa Rica, now you know where I’m talking about? Anyway, my mom is from there and my dad is from Mexico, but the funny thing is that somehow I feel like I also have some background from Asia especially from Korea. Have you ever felt as though you belonged from another part of the world differently from your native country? Well, it has happened to me. It’s really interesting to me or I’m getting crazy. I’m not sure, but the fact is that besides my background came from Central America (Nicaragua), Mexico (Veracruz), and I feel like I have something to do with Korea (especially South Korea hahaha), now I also feel that I have something to do with the native cowboys (especially Calgarians hahaha). If any philologist that is reading my post please contact me to help me find myself!

Ps. Come to the Calgary Stampede!

The Entrance to the Ground!

How about that man who plays all those instruments at once!! He's amazin'!

Oh!!! what's that?! it's a man sitting and a bull taking a nap over him... That's common in the Calgary Stampede...

How about gambling a little bit after you won a big tiger in the previous game?

Yeiiii yeiii yeiii,,, mini-donouts!!!

Scary? Yes, maybe the weather didn't help the picture look nice... kkk... but actually it was nice!!!

What's more, i got free breakfast!!!! and of course free entrance as well!!!

This was a little of the parade!

howdy

Howdy!!

Stampede is coming!! How wonderful hey! Square shirts, hats, blue jeans and boots are what you are going to see within the next marvelous days.
I really like Calgary Stampede; what’s more, this year is going to be my second time witnessing (within the entire crowd) the stampede parade. I’ve heard rumors that several people dislike the Stampede period. They say so because either they don’t like the cowboy fashion style, or they simply don’t like to have a whole week full of fun activities. “Fun activities” meaning… drinking, hanging out until midnight and behaving like a crazy cowboy… Yahooo!! So anyway, in my case I wish I could have more ‘fun’ during the Stampede, but!, there is always a ‘but’, since I’m still studying in the EAP and I have to deliver tons of homework due to the time of the ‘Stampede week’, and study very hard, deep and complex in order to get A+’s in my Writing class, I will not be able to attend many of the temptable, unforgettable, magnificent and terrific shows that are carried out during the Stampede. However, I can’t miss the parade!
Yahooo!!!
So hopefully I will see you there pretending to be an international cowboy-student.

P.s. Remember to wear sunblock, otherwise you will get more than a nice suntan, you will burn all your white and beautiful skin, or if you have already dark skin, you will probably be darker!!! So be careful,,, take care of your nice and soft skin!

Almost 18

My birthday is coming and I’m finally going to be and adult for the law. I will go and celebrate it to my hometown Mexico City. I’m looking forward to finish the EAP successfully and to be accepted into my faculty. After that, I will go to Mexico and have a nice vacation time with all my family and friends. We’ve already planned how I will celebrate my birthday. It’s going to be awesome! Besides, I will see all my family and friends, who I love, after 9 months without seeing them. I’m so excited since I really miss them and I’m so anxious that we will meet again. Frankly, I’ve had a wonderful time here in Canada, but it’s not the same as in Mexico City. Although I love Calgary, I miss a lot my country and my people. There are missing just two months, so I will try not to think too much in my future plans because I could get crazy! During the next months, I will be going through many changes such as turning 18, finishing EAP, leaving Calgary for a while, visiting my country, family and friends, coming back to Calgary, and hopefully being accepted at UofC.

Plan for tomorrow, but live for today!

What a busy day!!!

Today Monday was an extremely busy day to me. First, I woke up at 6:30 and had yogurt for breakfast food. After I ate my “breakfast” (as the word says, it was really fast) I started doing the homework that I couldn’t finished during the weekend (so sad -_-). Then at 8:00 I took a shower and prepared my stuff to go to school. However, I wasn’t feeling so good since I had a little stomachache for a while. So that’s why I decided not to eat more for breakfast. Then, as always, I went out to clean the dog’s poo (little nasty, but anyway that’s what I do every morning) and then took out the garbage. Ahhh… I had to do the dirty jobs at home -_-^. Anyway, after I finished doing the dirty job I went in and since I had still a little time until going to school I decided to continue reading a book (the book report) and then I went out again, but this time was not anymore to clean the yard, this time I took the bus destination Rundle Station. Yes, finally I was going to school the school at 9:55. Then, of course, I had to take the train destination City Center and then transfer at Olympic Plaza Station to the train destination Dalhousie which is the one that takes me to the University every single day. After going for all downtown, finally, I reached UofC. Actually, I arrived there at 10:40 and went to the Douccete Library to print some copies of my essay (Writing Class). Then, I was rushing since suddenly I noticed I needed to go to Neal’s class. After I took whole Neal’s class, it was time to attend Dr. Sengupta’s class, which is one of the best classes ever since I like all the way how she teaches (I think I will miss her after she stops teaching us__ pfff__), and like always the class was wonderful to me; moreover, I got my Mid-Term exam and I was so happy that I passed it with great notes!!, though I could’ve done a better job. After the excellent class finished, I had my usual lunch break and I went to my appointment in the Effective Writing Centre. When I was there, the instructor cleared me all my questions and gave me advise. Then, very fast I went again to the Douccete Library and edited my essay so I could hand it out better in Writing Class. Suddenly, I saw the clock and again I was against the clock; besides, I needed to meet Dr. Sengupta for some handouts she hadn’t gave me. So I went quickly to her office and took them. Therefore, I was late to my Writing Class at 2:30, perhaps I arrived at 2:40 but it was okay though (I guess, since after my arriving there were more students late). Then, as always, Ana told us what we were going to during the two-hour class (I like she always explains what we are going to do!) her speech sounded pretty interesting to me (as always of course,,, so nice writing classes she teaches :D). After a while, we had our break time; however, I didn’t take it since I had to ask some questions to Ana about some late homework I put off. Then, she gave me my last quizzes and my Mid-Term Exam!!!... I was so surprised I didn’t do as bad as I thought I had done. So that made me happy one more time in my day. Finally, I finished my classes, but I wasn’t going to my house, I needed to go to the airport. Yes! One of my friend’s mother and sister were coming today to Calgary and I promised I was going to meet her at the airport. So I went as fast as I could to the train and then I took the bus destination Airport at Rundle Station. Everything was going well, when suddenly the bus driver didn’t know the Airport route!! Can you imagine the driver asking me which way to turn?? Ahhh…. Anyway finally the bus driver didn’t get lost and we reached the airport. Then, I was just on time before my friend’s mother and sister arrived. We met them, which was so exciting, and then helped them with their baggage. Then, I accompanied until their apartment in downtown, so after I went to their house I took way to my house at Rundle Station again! Finally finally finally, I arrived to my house and then, I had my first food of the day, I ate supper. Then, I noticed I needed to write one more posts in my blog for my Writing assignment. And this is what I am doing now, perhaps I took very long time but I wanted to let you know how my busy day was. I guess after I finish to write my big today’s adventure, I will do more homework, I have tons of homework; besides, I got a headache!!!! Ahhhhhhh….

But anyway, I need be responsible with my school.

So, see you and if you read until this part of my post you must be tired so now go and take a rest!!!

Ah, by the way,,, before you take a rest post me a comment -_-;;

Sun = hot and sweat body... What To Do -_-;;;;

Yeiii! the SUN is here and it’s really nice after the winter snowstorm!!! But it’s not really nice when you are traveling on the c-train at 4:00pm and suffocated by the HOT entire crowd that is going home after a hard HOT day working closed in their HOT offices and starting to smell not really nice, IS IT??? So what to do??? -_- what should you do when you are soooo hot and sweating like if you were in the Sahara desert because of the extremely sun burns your arms and cheeks? I have a fast solution! Just take the c-train destination downtown and get off at 8th street station. Then, when you get there, turn your head and look for the famous BUBBLE TEA SHOP! Yes! If you are Chinese and you are reading this, you must know what I’m talking about, hey! BUBBLE TEA is a fresh chinese iced beverage made of tapioca (small round fruit) plus your favorite fruit flavor on it! If you try it once you will not hesitate your anxiety of drink it again and chill your suffocating heat out for a while… Try it with some potato chips (any kind) and you will get satisfactory results after a glass of bubble tea!!! Furthermore, you will get a “Bubble tea shops’ membership card” and after you buy certain number of bubble tea beverages, you’ll get ONE ENTIRE BUBBLE TEA GLASS FOR FREEE!! Try it!!!

For more information about “Bubble Tea Shops’ membership card” please visit downtown bubble tea shop!

Here you have the trailer of "Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix"

Some news

How’s it goin’? I’m pretty well,,, today is one of those sweltering usual weekend days where I just wake up late and do my cleaning stuff,,, like laundry, do my bedroom and…. -_- things like that ><>

Nothing special has happened in last week days, except that I pre-ordered the next book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!! That’s awesome ‘cause I’m part of the Harry Potter’s fandom and I remember in the past, before I came to Canada, usually the new books were late in my country because they needed to be translated into my country’s language,,, but now that I know enough English to read a book I can start reading it as soon as it arrives in the bookstores!! Yeah!! Besides, I saved 20% for pre-ordered it -_-///
I also excited about the movie premiere, it’s coming very soon!! Next July 13th and I must be there by that day!!!

Hey, I also got some Korean Rock songs!! Pretty funny to listen k-rock, thought I like it. Does anybody like “rock-punk” gender?? If u do and have some famous cool bands from your native country,,, please share them with me, I’m gathering international rock music,,, (yeah! ^^) As long as it’s “rock” it doesn’t matter what language the lyrics are,,, I’d like to get some good music from your country… So please let me know///

What a day!!

What a day!! May 30 !! It's almost the last day of the month and I can't believe how fast the time went.... @_@. Especially this month... I don't know why, but this month was like a lightning... Perhaps it’s because I’ve been sooooo busy!!!! yes!,,, I think so and the worst thing is that I like it!! (Am I a nerd?? Maybe,,, yes hahaha)

Anyway, bringing back the “flash month I had", I notice that I already spent my entire monthly budget. I'm in zeros!!!... Today I went to the bank and I wanted to withdraw some bills to deposit into my Canada account, but what a surprise when I saw I couldn't withdraw more than $40 box!! hahaha. So I took my $40 box and went to TD square hoping to save my last $40 box in my pocket for the rest of the month. But,,, just when I was walking around the TD square's corridors I turned my head and saw something terrific tempting, it was an ad from COLES (chapters indigo bookstore) and I read "PRE-ORDER HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS AND SAVE $5"... I stunned with the news and the first thing that came to my mind was to BUY IT!!. I couldn't stand the situation and my legs guided me through the bookstore followed it by the words... "I want to pre-order the HARRY POTTER BOOK!".
Finally, I bought it and I spent proudly my last $40 box buying the pre-ordered book!!! And it's not just a simple book, he?,,, IT IS HARRY POTTER’S NEW BOOK !!!

[Yes, I love J. K Rowling >< ... She's just amazing!, she’s able to make me cry and laugh while reading their most popular fiction books in the world (I guess so) !!! -___---]

Anyway,, after having told you my marvelous today's experience... I hope you’ll post me A COMMENT!!!!! POST ME!! Don’t hesitate your strong impulses willing to type me a comment…

A korean friend~

Hello Everyone!~~

How's it goin'? Hot day hu? Today's temperature was 26°C !!!

Today I will write about yesterday (how does it is sound like??-_-). Yesterday in the afternoon I met with two Korean friends. We had supper together since one of them is going back to her country next Friday (i guess) and we wanted to say good-bye. We went to a Japanese restaurant in downtown. While we were there, we had a great time talking about our "recent adventures" hahaha~. Then, we went to Prince Island Park (also located in downtown). I was so happy cause I'd never been there and yesterday was my first time. It was beautiful !!. Likewise the weather was so good (not as good as today though).
Anyway, she going and I feel strange,,, I think I made a good friendship with her, and now that she's leaving I will miss her. Hopefully, I will visit Korea in my first opportunity of traveling. I really want to go there. Also, I have more than one friend who has offered me "homestay" (which is awesome cause I wouldn't have to pay haha) while I'm in Korea.

I attached some pics of yesterday,,, I like to take pics everytime I can. I think taking pictures can make you remember feelings you had in that moment. That's why I like it.

Sooooooo,,,,, now that I'm writing for you and that you are reading what I just wrote...... POST A COMMENT !!! haha -_-

seeya

Have a nice day (or afternoon or evening or whatever is coming)

My Korean Friend who's going :(

My korean friend who is staying... Ahhh!! noo,,, that's me!!! haha baa_

This is Sisley

HEY !!
How is it goin'?
Well, this is my first post and I hope someone makes me a comment -_-;
Anyway, let me introduce more about myself.
As u know (or if u don't know now it's the moment to let u know -_-' ) my name is Sisley and I'm form Mexico City. I'm 17 years old and I finished my high school last year kk.
I've been living here in Calgary for about 6 months and I've enjoyed it a lot since I got many friends from different parts of the world (which is amazing eh!).
Last semester I started my role as a student in U of C, I took the ESL program for one semester and I had the opportunity to meet such as wonderful classmates and teachers!! I really loved it ! :D
While I was studyin' in the ESL program we went to several places around Calgary. For example, one of the best activities we did was the trip to the FERNIE. Fernie is a place where you can practice snowboarding or skiing. Therefore, I went and chose to snowboard. It was amazing !!. We went for three days and everything was so cool!!! ~~ I'd like I had stayed for more time there, however, it's ok 'cause I really had a great time!!!
Now ESL program is done and I entered to the EAP (also at U of C) program. I still amazed about the level I got after having done the placement test... I got level 3 which is the highest-_- // So, now I really do have to focus on my studies there. I find it a little difficult though, but I know I can do it (so far) haha... >_<
Anyway, now u know me a little bit more (i guess). And I hope you like me,,, hahaha...
Seeya!!
XOXO
